October 10 the man behind me...we all need to complain sometimes
get a little off our chest
but when you're complaining bout everyone
brother its time to give it a rest
if you live in a glass house
do not throw stones at mine
and if yours is shattered all around you
maybe its time you asked yourself why
some people say things at face
some will wait till you turn your back
but brother it don't matter what you say
cause its all about how you act
cause i've seen those with nothing
become the very best of men
and i've seen those with everything
be the very worst of friends
cause there's understanding and logic
there's reasoning and common sense
but when my grass starts looking greener brother
just remember who put up the fence
if someone won't help themselves
then there's only so much you can do
but brother if your legs aren't broken
don't ask me to carry you
beggers can't be choosers
thats a lesson you've yet to learn
i just hope you learn it quick,
before every bridge is burned
its not too much to ask for help
just as long as you stay true
don't ask someone to walk thru hell
if you won't let them wear your shoes!! |
